T-Mobile Optiums T launches Nov 3 for $29.99
T-Mobile just announced exact pricing and launch details for the previously announced LG Optiums T smartphone. The Optiums T features a 600MHz second-generation processor, 3.2" screen, 3MP camera, and runs Android 2.2, Froyo. It is a Google Experience device, meaning it will come pre-loaded with all your favorite Google apps like Gmail, Maps, etc.
It will be available next Wednesday, November 3 at T-Mobile stores and online for only $29.99 after a $50 rebate and with a 2-year contract. Contract free pricing was not given.
This may not be the most powerful smartphone out there, but for customers who may be first-time smartphone buyers, or those not wanting to spend $200 up front, this is an awesome option. It runs stock Froyo (with a very slightly tweaked launcher), meaning it runs a more up-to-date version of Android than even the Vibrant or Charm, and it's a nice, compact package with a responsive screen. I don't particularly want it, but it's a great addition to T-Mobile's lineup.
I'm kind of shocked to see a smartphone this affordable. This is a great price, especially considering the quality of most other phones you find in this price range. Good stuff, T-Mobile.
