New phones all over the place

Three phones became available or were announced around the world today. First up, the previously rumored, then made official, Motorola Flipout is available today on AT&T in the US. It only costs $79 on contract, with no rebates to worry about, or $349 outright.



Next comes the newly announced HTC Gratia, which is coming to Europe next month. The Gratia is identical in specs to the Aria, available on AT&T in the US. It's a small, compact, pocketable, and yet powerful device that will appeal to anyone wanting a quality HTC device that's as small as possible. In a surprise addition, the Gratia ships with Android 2.2, Froyo, whereas the US counterpart, the Aria, hasn't gotten the Froyo update yet.

And finally, Bell Canada announced today that they will soon be offering the Desire Z, which is nearly identical to the G2. The Bell version will run Android 2.2, and will feature the new HTC Sense interface. Bell didn't provide a release date aside from "coming soon," but it's probably safe to assume that it will be available in time for the holidays.

New phones are always exciting, even if they're going to a different country (or continent). The Desire Z in Canada, and the Gratia in Europe are particularly nice, seeing as how both the G2 and the Aria are such quality devices. HTC makes excellent hardware, and it's nice that some of their best devices will be available in more parts of the world. The Flipout, too, is priced perfectly to be a very popular stocking stuffer this Christmas.

Yeah, none of this is very exciting. It's actually kind of surprising that we actually got these phones before the rest of the world did--that doesn't seem to happen very often.
