AT&T announces 3 new Android phones

AT&T just took the wraps off of their newest Android devices for the holiday shopping season. They're launching three new phones, all by Motorola, and all of which have their own unique appeal.

First up, is the Motorola Bravo. This is a touchscreen-only device that features a 3.7" screen, 800MHz processor, 3MP camera, and runs Motorola's custom skin, Blur on top of Android 2.1, Eclair. There was no specific release date for this one, but it will be available for $129 on contract in time for the holidays.

Next is the Motorola Flipside, which is a traditional QWERTY-slider that features a 3.1" screen, 720MHz processor, 3MP camera, and runs Blur on top of Android 2.1. This one will also be available in time for the holidays for $99 on contract.

And finally, we have the much rumored Motorola Flipout. The Flipout has a small, 2.8" screen on top of a unique rotating keyboard, turning the device into a compact square when closed. The Flipout features  a 720MHZ processor, 3MP camera, and runs Blur on top of Android 2.1. It launches on October 17 for $79 on contract. [via Android Central]

None of these three are incredibly interesting to me, but they do provide some very inexpensive smartphone options for AT&T customers. The Flipout in particular is so unique that it will likely be popular just because of its design. These devices have already been criticized for not competing with the big boys, but it's important to remember that they were never intended to. These are inexpensive, entry-level phones, and they'll probably be quite popular for holiday shopping.

Yeah, all the stuff Ryan said. Plus, I think the Flipout is kind of cool, and I like that it's a tiny cute little square. None of these phones are super exciting, but I think they'll all be pretty popular.
