Continuing to prove their undying love for Verizon, Motorola showed off the Droid Bionic yesterday at CES. It's a beast of a phone, with a dual core processor, high resolution 4.3" screen, 8MP camera, front facing camera, Verizon 4G LTE, and powered by Android 2.2, Froyo with Motorola's custom skin on top.
This device bests the Droid X in literally every respect, so it's probably safe to assume that the Droid X will be phased out. It's Motorola's first phone to support Verizon's 4G network which, combined with the dual core processor, will make this one of the fastest, most capable phones on the market. The Bionic is expected to be released later this year, for an unannounced price.
Man, all of these blazing fast phones just feel like they're all the same. I mean, they have jaw-dropping specs and will be fast enough to rival desktops, but they're just mini tablet-style slate devices with no real design innovation. This thing looks great, sure, but I want to see more keyboarded phones that have such high end performance.
Why are phones even still being released running Froyo? Especially a high-end addition to their best selling line? Doesn't make sense to me.
