Virgin Mobile launches the Samsung Intercept

Virgin Mobile has just announced that their long-rumored Android device will be available now at Target stores nationwide, and soon on the Virgin website. The device is the Samsung Intercept, which also recently launched on Sprint. The Intercept is a moderately exciting phone that has a slide-out keyboard and runs Android 2.1, Eclair. It features a 3MP camera, 3.2" screen, and all the Google apps you expect from most Android phones.

Verizon announces the Droid Pro and Citrus

Verizon just surprised everyone by announcing a new Android device, the Droid Pro. If you recall, the Droid Pro is a device that has been rumored for quite some time. But the device announced today is nothing like the rumors suggested, and isn't even a device we've seen rumored before. Verizon somehow managed to keep word of this device completely under wraps until today.

As you can see, the Droid Pro is made by Motorola and features a QWERTY keyboard beneath the screen, much like the Motorola Charm. But the Droid Pro differs in that it has a vertical screen, instead of the Charm's smaller, horizontal screen. This makes it the second Android phone to feature a front-facing, non-slider QWERTY.

AT&T announces 3 new Android phones

AT&T just took the wraps off of their newest Android devices for the holiday shopping season. They're launching three new phones, all by Motorola, and all of which have their own unique appeal.

First up, is the Motorola Bravo. This is a touchscreen-only device that features a 3.7" screen, 800MHz processor, 3MP camera, and runs Motorola's custom skin, Blur on top of Android 2.1, Eclair. There was no specific release date for this one, but it will be available for $129 on contract in time for the holidays.

The details surrounding Google TV just got a lot clearer. We know Sony is announcing products on the 12th, and Logitech is holding a Google TV announcement on Wednesday. But just today, the Google TV website got a major update today that reveals quite a few more details about the service.

The site gives a great overview of how the system will work. Google TV products, which will include stand-alone boxes, as well as integrated TVs, will work to integrate all of your various TV watching systems. Everything from YouTube to Amazon to Netflix, to your existing DVR will all be searchable and watchable from the Google TV screen.

T-Mobile announces new MyTouch

In a surprise announcement last night, T-Mobile officially unveiled the new MyTouch phone. This had been previously rumored as the MyTouch HD, but it appears to be simply called MyTouch. The device is feature-packed and looks to be what lots of T-Mobile users have been waiting for.

The new MyTouch features a 3.8" screen, 1GHz second-generation Snapdragon processor, 5MP camera, 720p video recording, front-facing camera with video calling, 8GB of memory, pre-installed games, support for T-Mobile's advanced HSPA+ network, and runs Android 2.2, Froyo.

T-Mobile launches sign-up page for Galaxy Tab

Just last night, T-Mobile put up a sign-up page for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Tab. If you recall, the Tab is a 7" Android tablet running 2.2, Froyo and coming to all major US carriers soon. The sign-up page doesn't have any new information, but it does reaffirm T-Mobile's plans to release the device soon, and provides a way to sign-up for updates on availability.
