Android Weekend Rumor Recap

Another edition of the weekend rumor recap is here, and we have some good ones this week. To follow these rumors as they hit the wire, we recommend any of the quality Android blogs listed on the side of this site. Keep reading for the rumors!

First up, we have a rumor from Pocketables.net that a WiFi only version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab will be arriving at Best Buy on November 14. This was slightly confirmed when, earlier this week, a WiFi only version was seen passing through the FCC.
Ryan says: This is great. Everyone suspected a WiFi only version would be coming sooner or later, and this will be highly desirable for people (like me) who don't want a contract for a tablet.
Shelsy says: I agree that it's great to have a contract-free version. I personally think that option is better suited to this device's price and functionality.

Remember the Acer Liquid Metal? Well, this week it was spotted passing through the FCC with AT&T wireless frequencies built in. This doesn't necessarily mean that it's coming to AT&T, since some Canadian carriers use the same frequencies.
Ryan says: There's nothing super special about this phone, but it has crazy good looks, so it could be a hit just because of that.
Shelsy says: This phone definitely looks cool, though not super special. If I bought it, it would be because of its awesome name.

According to a rumor from BGR, an unknown device from Motorola will soon be arriving at AT&T. The rumor doesn't give much detail, but says that it's powered by NVidia and will be the best device available on AT&T.
Ryan says: There's not much to go on here. If it really is powered by NVidia, then that's very compelling, since those chips are extremely fast. Aside from that, um, there's not much to say.
Shelsy says: I don't know what NVidia is, so that doesn't mean much to me. I think it's interesting that they say that it will be the best device available on AT&T, because the iPhone is definitely AT&T's golden goose. Although, just because it's the most popular, doesn't mean it's the best device, either.

Earlier this week, Engadget got an exclusive picture of an upcoming Verizon 4G device made by LG. The device is rumored to run on Verizon's upcoming LTE network providing extremely fast download speeds. From the pictures, it appears to have a front facing camera, and has an HD camera on the back.
Ryan says: This device looks incredible. It doesn't have a keyboard, but everything else about it, including the physical looks, are downright impressive. If this is Verizon's first 4G device, they have a hit on their hands.
Shelsy says: I actually think it looks pretty weird. And it looks like the front is almost completely screen, which is interesting. But the fact that it's on Verizon and is the first to have the new, faster network is a good sign that it will be pretty successful.

Finally, we have a rumor that that a new device, which we first saw back in August, will arrive on Verizon soon as the Incredible HD. The device is rumored to have a front facing camera, and 4.3" screen. If true, it will be very appealing to people waiting for a large screen HTC device on Verizon.
Ryan says: This is another great looking phone. But it's on Verizon, doesn't have a keyboard, and is a bit too huge, so it's not for me.
Shelsy says: I don't understand the fascination with these enormous screens, but apparently I'm the only one.  It'll be interesting to see if it ends up being more similar to the G2 in terms of running stock Android, or to the Desire phones and running HTC Sense. Either one would be fine, although I personally prefer straight Android. Let's just hope it's not all full of Bing.

Another week of rumors concluded! There will be lots more next week, though, so be sure to come back next weekend for another recap. Happy Halloween!
